From 1956 until 1983, the Hajjars owned and operated a roller-skating rink, which always had a snack area. Tillie and the entire family worked the business. In the 1960s, the family also owned and operated a restaurant in Boston, in which Danny and Phillip Hajjar played an active role.In 1984 the establishment was converted to a fitness club. The snack area started serving a breakfast and lunch menu with a beer and wine license. At this time, Tillie introduced many Lebanese dishes and appetizers. The breakfast and lunch business went so well, and with more and more fitness centers coming into the area, the family decided to convert the fitness club to a restaurant.
Originally, the restaurant was called "Hajjar Lebanese Cuisine" but later changed to Hajjar's Bar & Grille, offering a few Lebanese dishes.
